  • Condition: Good condition for age for sure. Old wooden frames are sturdy, dovetailed, with metal straps to hold in place. One of four is missing its glass. Vintage enamelware pan has dings and some rust on bottom.

    Description

    These five vintage darkroom items were used together for many years so I am offering them together rather than selling each individually. There are four heavy wooden frames, dovetailed and sturdy, which I believe were used as masking frames or contact printers. Three have their original glass, one does not. Three have their original felt, one does not. Also included in this collection is a 5" by 7" white enamelware pan used for developing; it has some dings and a large rusty spot on the bottom but is still quite serviceable.
    The frames are as follows, smallest to largest.
    One: 5 1/8" by 6 1/4" exterior measurement, 3 11/16
    " by 4 3/4" interior measurement,
    original felt and glass, hinged wooden backing, metal spring fasteners.
    Two: 6" by 8"
    exterior measurement,
    4 3/4" by 6 3/4" interior measurement,
    original felt, missing its glass, wooden backing hinged with black tape, metal spring fasteners.
    Three: 6 1/2" by 8 1/4"
    exterior measurement,
    4 7/8" by 6 3/4" interior measurement,
    original felt and glass, hinged wooden backing with metal spring fasteners. Sticker on front says "Jay Bee, Quality Guaranteed" and on back sticker says "Kessco Mfg. Los Angeles California."
    Four: 7" by 9"
    exterior measurement, 4 3/16" by 6 3/4" interior measurement, original glass, hinged wooden backing with metal spring fasteners. (This one is special, may be hand-made rather than commercially purchased. The wood is 1 1/8" thick, beautifully dovetailed, very nice.)
